1. Preheat Your Iron

Turn your iron to the highest setting your fabric can tolerate. Make sure the ‘steam’ option is turned off.

2. Clean the Backing

Make sure the patch back is clean, spray some water on the back.

3. Place the Animal Patch

Place the patch where you want to attach it and place over a cloth or a thin towel (the towel will protect the patch itself and the surrounding fabric).

4. Press Firmly

Position the heated iron over the patch and press down firmly. Hold the iron there for about 30 seconds and repeat from the opposite side for another 30 seconds.

5. Check the Animal Patch

Remove the iron and allow the patch to cool. Lift the towel and check whether the patch is fixed on securely by gently rubbing at the edge with a finger, trying to lift it. If it lifts up a bit, replace the towel and repeat the steps above.

6. Secure the Animal Patch

For an even more secure patch, use a sewing machine — or needle and thread — to extra secure the patch to the fabric. If it lifts up a bit, replace the towel and repeat the steps above.

How to Stick on Bernie’s Animal Patches

Prefer to stick down Bernie’s animal patches? It couldn’t be easier!

1. Place and Press

Place the patch where you want to attach it. Press firmly around the edges of the patch to stick it down.

2. Leave for 24 Hours

Do not wash your animal patch for 24 hours after application.

3. Dry then Wash

Place your item in the dryer for 10-15 minutes on medium heat before its first wash. Wash inside out using cold water.

4. Secure the Animal Patch

For an even more secure patch, use a sewing machine — or needle and thread.
